If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend why not visit Drum Castle and vote for your favourite BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile tote bag design?
As part of a live project, 36 first year students from Gray’s School of Art have each produced their own unique tote bag design, with cotton shopping bags on display in and around the castle.
The most popular design will be produced and sold in the Castle shop!
What better way to spent a Wednesday lunchtime than exploring the fantastic designs on display at the interim degree show at Gray’s School of Art? We can’t wait to see the final designs and collections in May and June this year!
We also picked up some cute Valentine’s Day cards in the Aberdeen Business School atrium today! These were created by Product Design students at Gray’s School of Art.
We had a fantastic time at the Gray’s School of Art degree show this afternoon. As always there were some interesting and thought provoking exhibits. Some fabulous use of colour really brightened up our rainy Sunday afternoon. Well done to everyone for all their hard work!
Here is where they keep the fashion…
It was great to see the students’ inspiration, mood boards and the story behind their designs displayed using electronic visuals throughout the fashion room. This really helped bring the fashion to life for those who missed the fashion show itself.
On Friday, our third year students raised £4737 for Down’s Syndrome Scotland in a successful Golden Show event! A fantastic assortment of fashion from Aberdeen’s Bon Accord & St Nicholas was showcased in themed catwalks and our fabulous fashion finale showcased couture designs from Aberdeen based designer and Gray’s School of Art graduate, Daniel Crozier, whose show-stopping dresses wowed the audience (and us!) Students gathered on stage to announce the total funds raised for the charity and were showered in confetti by the large balloon that was elevated over the stage during the event (it worked – yay!)
Feedback from our guests highlights the fashion and entertainment as their favourite aspects of the show; the latter included our fantastic MC, Wray Thomson, the talented singer/ songwriter Anna Barton, and modern violinist, Ramus.
A huge thank you to our guests, entertainers, models and sponsors who collectively made the show a success! A special thanks to our main event sponsor AVC Media who helped us transform our venue into our vision of the Golden Show. We had a fabulous time at last night’s graduate fashion show for designers at Gray’s School of Art. The show was beautifully set up at RGU’s Riverside East and guests were greeted with macarons and Mackies chocolate (which we love!)
There were some really interesting designs presented and we loved the menswear where some really memorable concepts and colours were showcased.
Looking forward to their degree show later in June!
