We’re pleased to see that cult classic 90’s television is still enjoyed by our first year students – some of whom were only born at the end of the millennium! Next week’s fashion exhibition promises both Friends and Clueless themed showcases and if you drop by the Clueless stand and make a small donation to the PDSA you’ll be able to grab a cake and some Juicy Fruit gum.
We’re pleased to reveal another exciting theme from our upcoming Fashion Exhibition: a Celebration of Creativity and Culture… One of our student teams headed to Aberdeenshire’s Haddo House to stage a Beetlejuice themed photoshoot featuring two of the students (first year Fashion Management) as models (don’t they look great?!) and their garment – sourced from Aberdeen’s Shelter charity shop.
The team are hoping to raise awareness of Shelter’s mission to help the homeless through a creative showcase, inspired by the 1988 cult classic movie Beetlejuice and its links to fashion trends.
Today we launched our annual fashion exhibition with first year Fashion Management, Event Management and Public Relations students! Students were split into ten teams and given ten pounds to be spent in an allocated Aberdeen-based charity shop. The project will run for the next ten weeks where students will plan and organise a fashion exhibition to be held on Wednesday the 12th of April.
In celebration of our newly formed School of Creative and Cultural Business, the students have been asked to choose a cultural artefact and this will form the inspiration behind their exhibition space. We’re so excited to see what the different teams come up with!
More on this to follow where we look forward to sharing the students’ garment choices and plans for the exhibition…
