Happy 29th of February everyone!
Although you’re all far too busy to contemplate the opportunity to propose today, we thought you might like to know the fashion implications of a leap year… Just in case the mood takes you, make sure you are properly attired. Women should wear breeches or a scarlet petticoat to pop the question today and our Danish friends can look forward to receiving 12 pairs of gloves if the gentleman refuses her advances, while in Finland, she will receive enough fabric for a skirt.
We hope this information has lightened your day and, if you’re working in retail, may you sell many red petticoats!
Thanks to Hannah for sharing this fabulous photo from London!
Happy friday everyone!

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend why not visit Drum Castle and vote for your favourite BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile tote bag design?
As part of a live project, 36 first year students from Gray’s School of Art have each produced their own unique tote bag design, with cotton shopping bags on display in and around the castle.
The most popular design will be produced and sold in the Castle shop!
It’s been a busy week for our third years with lots of placement updates!
Lucie is on a year long placement with Cosmopolitan magazine in Prague! A few months ago, Cosmopolitan started helping Rosa charity, which helps abused women and their children overcome problems. This initiative has been so successful that Cosmopolitan are planning to hit the interior decor stores next to provide bed linen and pillows. We think this is a fantastic initiative and look forward to hearing more!
